What were your goals coming into the challenge?
Attend three or more crossfit sessions during the weeks I was in Fort Collins
Follow the plate method and eat more mindfully
Drink more water while traveling and focus on the plate method while traveling
What were your bright spots during the challenge?
SO many! I learned a lot about myself and my habits during this challenge. I think my biggest bright spot was the mindful eating portion of the challenge and having self-awareness surrounding my eating habits. That opened up a lot of self-reflection and led me to find the root of my habits.
What were your struggles during the nutrition challenge?
I definitely struggled with the sleep portion of the challenge. And, if I'm being honest, I struggled with being 100% in on the challenge. I missed daily activities, posting in the group, and completing watching videos/exercises.
What are 3-5 things you gained over the last 28-days?
A healthier relationship with food
Better discipline surrounding the gym
A new understanding of my habits and how they impact my everyday life. I have a better understanding of how to move forward in a way that works for me.
What did you like most about the challenge?
I really enjoyed that each week was a new snapshot of what to focus on.
What is your next nutrition and health related goal?
I would like to continue showing up consistently at the gym. Now that travel season is over for December/January, I am SO excited to be able to come to the gym consistently.
I am going to continue with the plate method and the mindful eating habits. I loved all the HSN recipes and I would like to incorporate more of this into my meal prep and everyday nutrition.
How has nutrition coaching positively impacted you over the last 28 days?
The accountability and attention to detail is unmated at DeNovo. Any question or concern was met with a thoughtful and insightful response that allowed me to discover more about myself. I now have a better relationship surrounding food and steps to help me continue the healthy habits I have gained.
What would you say to someone considering nutrition coaching with us?*
Try it! It's a different approach than today's 'typical diet' and is a much more reflective experience. This is more of a lifestyle approach that leads to healthy, long term habits. AND, it goes hand in hand with showing up at the gym!
