DeNovo did you know - Definition of Denovo & more…
DID YOU KNOW?
De novo (literally 'of new') is a Latin expression used in English to mean 'from the beginning', 'anew'.
Scott Peterson, Coach Jorine’s husband gave us the idea of using this phrase as the name of a CrossFit gym 7 years ago and we LOVED it and ran with it!
Why does DeNovo have a capital N?
Similar to how CrossFit is 2 words married together, we chose to take the Latin term “de novo” and squish them together. That’s it… nothing more about it.
How does “DeNovo” show up in the gym and day to day life?
As a Team and a Community, we continually work hard, regardless of what life throws at us, to remind ourselves of the DeNovo Theory; every day is an opportunity to start from the beginning, anew.
No matter what yesterday brought, we owe it to ourselves to show up, do what we can, stay present and cherish each day as an opportunity. Don’t get us wrong, life can suck… and it can throw BIG curve balls our way. But that’s why we have each other in this community to help lift us up and remind us about the DeNovo Theory.
