How did you discover CrossFit?

I started crossfit because my friend, Emma, wanted to try it when we were in college at DU. Before trying crossfit, I was strictly a runner. After I did my trial class, I was immediately motivated to get better because it was so difficult and I wanted to get stronger! Funnily enough, now I hate running.

What draws you to DeNovo CrossFit?

The people and the coaches. The community is so motivating and supportive. The coaches are friendly and amazing at what they do. The days I don’t make it to the gym, I feel like I missed out on seeing my friends.

What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment in life?

According to my boyfriend, Justin, “pulling this sweet piece of ass.” 🙄

In all actuality, it was probably moving across the world and living in Copenhagen, Denmark for 9 years.

What or who EMPOWERS you at DeNovo?

The coaches and my fellow athletes all empower and support me (and everyone else) so much!

What is your favorite way to use your fitness outside of the gym?

I use my fitness outside of the gym all the time. I love when I buy a couple big bags of pet food and someone asks if I need help carrying it to my car and I can say “Nope, I do crossfit.”

What is your pet peeve?

Inconsiderate people.

Favorite workout song.

“Til I Collapse” by Eminem is a good one, but I basically like anything emo/hard rock or hip hop/rap.

Favorite CrossFit movement or type of workout?

My favorite movement is box jumps. My favorite type of workout is usually a chipper of some sort with not tooooo much cardio. Heavy weights are okay though. 😁

What advice would you have for anyone who is nervous to join DeNovo?

Just give it a try! You will be shocked at how strong you already are and how accomplished you will feel after every workout. Your life will change for the better the stronger you get.

What do you do professionally?

I am the VP of Operations at Capital Business Systems; it’s a family-run organization with our headquarters here in Fort Collins.

If we were sitting here one year from now, what would we be celebrating together?

Hopefully my first proper chest to bar!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading two books, as is usual for me. One fiction book for fun and one nonfiction book for learning and whatever.

What are you thankful for?

My three baby angels (Kai: dog, Oliver & Hugo: cats), my boyfriend (who also claims he is a baby angel), my family, friends, the list goes on!
