What prompted you to start nutrition coaching with DeNovo Nutrition?

I did a member check in and realized I was feeling pretty confident about all areas of my health except nutrition.

What are 3-4 things that you GAINED throughout this experience?

Knowledge of what a balanced meal looks like, consistency planning meals in advance, and confidence.

What are 2-3 things that you LOST?

Feeling like healthy eating has to be complicated and the all or nothing mindset.

What is the biggest thing that you have learned since starting nutrition coaching?

I can make small healthy changes that are doable for me instead of trying to change in huge unsustainable bursts.

What were you struggling with before you signed up for our nutrition program?

Eating enough veggies.

How did our nutrition program help solve that problem?

Jenny and the other nutrition clients have given me good ideas about ways to cook veggies, and I've been empowered to put veggies in lots of different foods instead of feeling like they must be by themselves.

What was different about our nutrition program compared to diets you've tried in the past?

I'm focusing on quality of food instead of calories, and working to make lifestyle changes that are permanent instead of restricting myself in ways that will ultimately fail.

Tell us about the moment when you realized our nutrition program was actually working to solve your problem?

When we moved there were a couple weeks where my nutrition habits went out the window. Instead of feeling like I completely failed I just saw it as a brief deviation from where I wanted to be. That's the difference between a diet and lifestyle changes.

Tell us what life looks like now that your problem is solved or is being solved?

My eating habits haven't gotten as dramatically better as my old self might have wanted, but I'm a lot more mindful of creating healthy meals and getting more veggies in. It's still something I have to work at, but without the all or nothing mindset I can feel successful most days.

How has the accountability and support of nutrition coaching helped you stay on track?

This is the most valuable part of the program by far. Having someone nudge me to make a plan, remind me to stick with it, and help troubleshoot when I run into obstacles is huge. Having Jenny's support has kept me focused on my goals even when my life is busy.

What would you say to someone considering nutrition coaching with DeNovo Nutrition?

You might as well give it a shot. The coaches are so knowledgeable and supportive. It can give you the tools and knowledge you need without judgement.

What is your next nutrition and health related goal?

Continuing to work at eating more veggies and crushing it at the gym
