How did you discover CrossFit?
I was working out in the morning at Miramont north, accomplishing very little most days. Saw CrossFit classes happening below the track and after a few weeks I couldn’t take it anymore, had to try it and signed up.
What draws you to DeNovo CrossFit?
It’s so much fun.. r something. It’s sick but we all love it or we wouldn’t keep coming back. Coaches and the community are top notch!
What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment in CrossFit and in life?
It helped me quit smoking cigarettes 8 years ago, I never thought that would happen. Life? That question hurts my brain, pass.
What athlete/s at DeNovo inspire you to be the best version of yourself each and every day?
Michael Z, if you know him, enough said, high quality individual.
Scott and Phillip inspired me early on to put the effort in and keep showing up, beasts.
Jorine and Jenny, I probably wouldn’t still be doing CrossFit without their coaching, friendship and motivation over the years.
What is your pet peeve?
Rod Rice, that’s it, just one.
What/who inspires you?
My son Everett is the sweetest kid, I want to be more like him.
Favorite workout song?
Rage Against the Machine, any song will do.
What advice would you have for anyone who is nervous to join DeNovo?
Take the leap, put in the work, it will pay off and you will meet some great people.
Tunnel vision, keep your eye on the prize and don’t worry about what other athletes are doing.
What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit, both for fun and professionally?
I like skiing, camping, hockey, free time with Emily doing anything since it’s rare with demanding little people. Legos and fort building with the boys. Professionally I enjoy not working as much as possible, I run a small food sales company when forced to work.
If we were sitting here one year from now, what would we be celebrating together?
17 months straight committed club hopefully, maybe a couple double unders.
Favorite CrossFit movement?
Box jump overs or high box jumps, I think that answer could have autofilled.
What are you currently reading?
Sugar and Corn Starch market reports, haha, I don’t do much reading for fun currently, just boring work articles and forecasts.
What are you thankful for?
Family, my wife Emily and my boys. Thankful for them everyday in this crazy world.
