Nutrition Spotlight - Stacey Johnson

What prompted you to start nutrition coaching with DeNovo Nutrition?

Feeling frustrated with COVID weight gain and energy fluctuations.


What are 3-4 things that you GAINED throughout this experience?

I’ve gained a better perspective on long-term habits and health. I’ve gained accountability with my goals. I’ve gained more consistency in eating in a balanced way, and I have gained a growth mindset on this health and fitness journey.


What are 2-3 things that you LOST?

I’ve lost some guilt about not being a “perfect” nutrition client or gym member. I’ve lost a few pounds, but more importantly, I have less of a need to see/feel immediate results and am learning to trust the process.


What is the biggest thing that you have learned since starting nutrition coaching?

I have learned that this health & fitness thing is a lifelong journey, and I will make mistakes. I just need to keep experimenting, find what works for me, and commit to daily actions toward my goals.


What were you struggling with before you signed up for our nutrition program?

Emotional eating. Binging on sugary foods, baked goods, and coffee to control energy.


How did our nutrition program help solve that problem?

It is teaching me to eat in a way that fuels my body and keeps me from experiencing energy crashes and intense cravings.


What was different about our nutrition program compared to diets you've tried in the past?

This is a well-rounded and holistic program that meets you where you are and encourages you to take small steps to get to where you want to go.


Tell us about the moment when you realized our nutrition program was actually working to solve your problem?

When I stopped waking up in the middle of the night ravenously hungry.


Tell us what life looks like now that your problem is solved or is being solved?

I am a work in progress. I’m becoming more aware of my habits and tweaking things toward health. For example, I now pay attention to getting those fruits and veggies every meal.


How has the accountability and support of nutrition coaching helped you stay on track?

Jorine is so warm and responsive and reminds me we are in this for the long haul. She helps me focus more on what I am doing right than where I still need work.


What would you say to someone considering nutrition coaching with DeNovo Nutrition?

This is a great program for intentional, sustainable progress toward a healthy and fit life.


What is your next nutrition and health related goal?

Start building up that strength! I’m going to break that 100# threshold on my clean eventually!!
